I first contacted Mary during a long COVID lockdown. The stresses associated with COVID that included limited ability to work, vaccination fear and other daily restrictions had led to a long-term relationship breakdown for me and I was in a bad place. My chronic asthma had also become worse.

I felt tired, sick and sluggish.  A friend suggested Mary may be able to help.

Mary felt the asthma was of greatest concern, and that changes we made to improve that would also help my body and mind deal with the stresses which were not under my control.

I didn’t know how to use Zoom so we had FaceTime consults by phone. That worked well.  After I was able to go back to work, we had phone consults (not FaceTime) while I drove the bulldozer.  After it was finished, Mary wrote up everything we talked about with all the instructions and sms’ed it to my phone so I could remember what to do.

I’m not a cook, so Mary explained me how to assemble healthy foods easily for myself and my teenage son who lives with me.  At that stage I had been on a Preventor for decades and used Ventolin every single day, often multiple times.  I had 3 puffers in my truck, one next to my bed and another at work.

In only a few weeks I was feeling better.  More energetic, and a bit more hopeful overall. I also didn’t need the Ventolin puffer quite as much.

Within the next 6 months, I had the mental strength to get back into some exercise, I had lost a good deal of weight and felt as fit as I did in my 20s.   Also, I hadn’t used my preventer for over a month and hadn’t used Ventolin at all for over 5 months. 

When I went to Central Australia three years ago, my asthma was so bad my son had to keep waiting for me on all the hikes. Now on a hike, I have to wait for my son, even though he is now bigger and stronger than back then.  

I now have only one ‘supplement’ to take to keep inflammation low – a grocery store item that is as cheap as chips. I feel better than ever.

(Note: a follow-up at 10 months showed improvements continuing.)
