I was very overweight when I went to see Mary – more than 20kg overweight.  I’d always been overweight and I now had occasional chest pain, high blood pressure, above normal cholesterol, dizziness, low energy and wore a back brace to protect my bad back.  Being a truck driver, I found it hard to eat healthily and get enough exercise.

Mary helped me make an eating plan that fitted with my work schedule.  Over several visits we worked on timing my eating so I wouldn’t get too hungry and end up pulling into the fast food takeaway on the way home.  My wife came on board and cooked the type of meals I needed to lose weight and get healthy.                       

I had a lot of lifestyle habits to change – from exercise to sleep to eating to my own thinking about weight and health.  We worked on everything and while I was still seeing Mary I lost 20kg. I was never hungry either.  Our visits were every month for a year.  I had a lot of habits to change in order to keep the weight off.

I’ve continued on with the plan since then and have lost another 8 kg.  I also lost the chest pain, my blood pressure and cholesterol became normal, my back is no longer causing any problems and I have a lot of energy.
