After I was hospitalised for constant daily painful headaches and migraines, I discovered I had incredibly high blood pressure: 240/140.  No doubt I had had this problem for many years and never known about it.

This is why high blood pressure is called “the silent killer”.  I am just glad I found out before it was too late.

I was put on one high dose of a blood pressure medication immediately.  My doctor said that once I adjusted to that there would be a second, third and perhaps fourth as my body would start overriding their effects. I hoped to avoid this scenario.

Mary described to me what was causing the high blood pressure and put together a plan to heal my blood vessels. I couldn’t believe how much my diet needed to change.  I changed what I was eating overnight once I realised how quickly high blood pressure can kill a person with no warning. I couldn’t believe how much change was needed though!

On top of the weight loss and having more energy, it’s now quite apparent to me that diet and most health problems go hand in hand.  My blood pressure medication is now quite low and I’ve never had any need for further medications despite it being some years since the crisis.

I haven’t experienced bad migraines like those I had previously.  Lesser migraines have been able to be decreased with an elimination diet which Mary put me on.  This indicated histamine responses being caused by certain foods.  If I avoid those limited numbers of foods, I can also avoid migraines.
